Longfellow Deeds is de eigenaar van een populaire pizzahut in het kleine stadje Mandrake Falls en leidt een simpel maar gelukkig bestaan. Zijn fijne leventje komt volledig op z'n kop te staan als hij hoort dat een verre oom hem een gigantische erfenis van 40 miljard dollar nalaat. Deeds vertrekt naar Manhattan om zijn nieuwe bezit op te eisen. Vanaf dat moment wordt hij overladen met aandacht en zit elk sensatieblad hem op de hielen.
Nee, helaas is Mr. Deeds nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
