Jeff Talley is een onderhandelaar bij gijzelingen, die zijn werk opgeeft nadat een crisissituatie de mist in is gegaan. Maar een kans om zich opnieuw te bewijzen verschijnt vanzelf en Talley doet een poging zijn vergissingen te vergeten, al is degene die hij probeert te bevrijden uit de gijzeling een accountant van de maffia.
