De hoofdpersoon van The tao of Steve is de dikke dertiger Dex, die in weerwil van zijn omvang bekend staat als een heuse Don Juan en vrolijk van de ene leuke dame naar de andere vlindert. Zijn geheim: een drie stappenplan waarmee hij iedere vrouw weerloos maakt voor zijn charme, genaamd The tao of Steve. Waarbij de naam Steve staat voor alles wat goed en mannelijk is, zoals bijvoorbeeld acteur Steve McQueen (die nooit indruk probeerde te maken maar toch altijd het meisje kreeg). Maar dan wordt Dex tegen al zijn principes verliefd op setontwerper Syd.
Nee, helaas is The Tao of Steve nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
