Na een auto-ongeluk lijdt Dan Merrick aan geheugenverlies. Hij komt er weer achter dat hij getrouwd is met Judith, die hem helpt om zijn geheugen terug te krijgen. Dan heeft last van flashbacks omtrent gebeurtenissen waar hij niets van kan herinneren. Dan ontmoet hij Gus Klein, die hem al kende voor het ongeluk. Klein helpt hem om meer van Dans verleden te weten te komen en om te achterhalen wie hij nou eigenlijk is.
