1969, Rio de Janeiro. Terwijl de ogen van de wereld op de maanlanding zijn gericht, zit Brazilië gevangen in een dictatuur, waarin persvrijheid en burgerrechten al een half jaar zijn afgeschaft. De jonge journalist Fernando en zijn vriend Cesare voegen zich bij de terroristische organisatie MR8 om de strijd tegen de Braziliaanse dictatuur aan te gaan.
