In 2009 werd regisseur Alex Gibney aangetrokken om een film te maken over de comeback van Lance Armstrong. Het project werd echter stopgezet toen het dopingschandaal losbarstte. In 2013 ziet het project nieuw leven en zijn we er getuige van hoe één van de meest buitengewone verhalen in de geschiedenis van de sport wordt doorprikt.
Ja! de film The Armstrong Lie is nu beschikbaar om te kijken op Netflix in Nederland.
