Alvin wil samen met zijn vriendjes Simon en Theodore meedoen aan een race rond de aarde. Ze huren een luchtballon en zijn vastbesloten om de prijs van 100.000 dollar te winnen. Helaas is een bende diamantendieven hetzelfde van plan en ze lokken Alvin en zijn vrienden in een val.
