Eric Poole (Jon Foster) lijkt een normale jongen, maar heeft zijn ouders op gruwelijke wijze vermoord. Vanaf het moment dat Eric enkel jaren later de poort van de jeugdgevangenis achter zich sluit, houdt oud-rechercheur Cristofuoro (Russell Crowe) hem scherp in de gaten. Hij weet dat er geestelijk iets vreselijk mis is met Eric en verdenkt hem ook van een nog onopgeloste moord op een jong meisje. Dan komt Cristofuoro erachter dat Eric gestalkt wordt door het 15-jarig weggelopen tienermeisje Lori (Sophie Traub), die hem al jaren adoreert en hem wil beschermen. Zal Eric weer in de fout gaan of kan Cristofuoro voorkomen dat er meer gruweldaden gepleegd worden.
