Juli 1998 - Nadat een groep delinquenten dood wordt aangetroffen in hun ontmoetingsplaats met al hun ledematen verwrongen en afgescheurd, ontvangt Aozaki Touko een verzoek om de moordenaar te vinden en vraagt hij Shiki om hulp. De hoofdverdachte is Asagami Fujino; een meisje dat tot voor kort het speeltje van de jongens was en volgens Shiki 'uniek in haar soort' is.
