Jim Macauley ontdekt dat zijn echtgenote iets heeft met een andere man. Hij besluit zijn jonge dochter mee te nemen, en de wijde wereld in te trekken. Al snel ontdekt Jim dat met de verantwoordelijkheid voor zijn dochter, hij niet meer de flierefluiter kan zijn die hij tot die tijd was.
