Barney Springboro is het wetenschappelijk genie van de lokale high school. Zijn beste vriend, Peyton Nichols, wil met de uitvindingen van Barney flink wat geld verdienen. Als tijdens een experiment er een ontploffing ontstaat, verandert er wat met Barney: hij krijgt telekinetische krachten.
