De eigenaar van een bar in San Francisco droomt ervan om bij de rijke van Nob Hill te behoren. Wanneer hij een romance krijgt met een rijkere vrouw, lijkt zijn droom eindelijk uit te komen. De mooie zangeres uit zijn bar wil koste wat het kost hem houden waar hij zich bevindt.
