De nieuwe agent Christine Paley is slim en wil graag de straat op gaan op zoek naar slechteriken. Ze is teleurgesteld als ze in plaats daarvan de opdracht krijgt om criminelen te vervolgen. Onder toezicht van een stoere maar sympathieke mentor komt Christine er al snel achter dat haar bureaubaan als geen ander bureaubaan ter wereld is.
