Luitenant Roger Carrington valt in de nadagen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog uit een vliegtuig en landt in door Duitsers bezet gebied. Barones Marlene ontfermt zich over hem en al snel daarna krijgt zij gevoelens voor de knappe Amerikaan. Om hem vast te houden vertelt zij hem niet dat de oorlog ondertussen afgelopen is en bijna 5 jaar lang weet de barones die schijn op te houden. Maar dan wil de onwetende luitenant toch weer op pad om tegen de Duitsers te vechten.
