Na jaren in het gevang te hebben gezeten keert huursoldaat Jack Rutherford (Clint Walker) terug huiswaarts om zijn vriendin Rozaline (Stefanie Powers) weer te zien. Deze blijkt er echter met een andere man vandoor te zijn gegaan en de ranch waarop ze samen woonachtig waren te hebben verkocht aan een nieuwe eigenaar. Hij besluit achter haar aan te gaan richting de Mexicaanse grens en komt er zo achter dat de revolutionair Simon Fuegus (Pedro Armendáriz Jr.) de nieuwe liefde in haar leven is. Fuegus gebruikt het geld van de verkochte ranch om aan wapens en ammunitie te komen en wanneer hij weigert Rutherford een deel van het geld te geven, besluit deze hem te kidnappen. Rutherford heeft immers ook recht op een deel van het geld dat aan zijn voormalig eigendom is verdiend…
