Marty is een irritant mannetje dat aan de lopende band mensen oplicht. Als het misgaat, dwingt zijn groeiende paranoia hem om zijn saaie stadje en zijn tijdelijke baantje in te wisselen voor de straten van Detroit. Hij neem slechts een zak vol valse cheques en een gevaarlijk verbouwde "Nintendo Power Glove" mee en heeft een slecht humeur.
