Mijningenieur Rick Morgan werkt in Centraal-Afrika. Een vriend van hem, Jim Scott, wil gifafval storten in een oude mijnschacht. Rick staat dat echter niet toe. Hierdoor raakt hij onbedoeld betrokken bij een grootscheepse jacht op door de CIA in beslag genomen plutonium.
