De mooie, trotse Latinovrouw Flor en haar dochtertje verhuizen naar Los Angeles. Flor neemt een baantje aan als huishoudster bij de familie Clasky, maar merkt al snel dat het er in deze familie niet zo aan toe gaat als dat ze gewend is. De familieleden kennen ieder zo de nodige problemen en ondanks dat Flor de Engelse taal niet machtig is, probeert ze haar gevoelens over de situatie te uiten.
