Ambrose McKinley, een chagrijnige, blinde dierenarts neemt zijn intrek in een bejaardenhuis. Hij komt er echter al snel achter dat verschillende bewoners gestorven zijn, niet van ouderdom maar door aanvallen van een hond. Wanneer hij op een avond zelf een aanval van een hond overleeft heeft hij het vermoeden dat de aanvallers meer zijn dan alleen honden.
