Hector (Simon Pegg) is een excentrieke maar onweerstaanbare Londense psychiater die in een crisis zit. Zijn patiënten blijken niet gelukkiger te worden. Dan op een dag, gewapend met veel moed en een bijna kinderlijke nieuwsgierigheid, breekt hij uit zijn beschutte leefomgeving en begint hij aan een wereldwijde zoektocht om er achter te komen of geluk wel bestaat. Belangrijker nog, of het geluk wel voor hemzelf bestaat. En zo begint hij aan een kleurrijke, exotische, gevaarlijke en hysterische reis.
Nee, helaas is Hector and the Search for Happiness nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
