Een disfunctionele groep van ongepubliceerde schrijvers met het motto "allen voor een", accepteert Hannah Rinaldi in de groep. Het laatste wat zij echter verwachtte was dat ze succesvol zou worden, maar dat is precies wat er gebeurt. Terwijl haar carrière een vlucht neemt, strijden haar excentrieke en afgunstige collega's zich hun eigen weg naar roem en fortuin. De spanningen stijgen en harten worden gebroken. Afwijzing drijft hen tot wanhoop. Het is maar goed dat ze slechts gewapend zijn met pennen.
