Iris is een enthousiaste jonge vrouw die een carrière ambieert als fotografe. Ze ziet hoe haar wereld in elkaar stort wanneer er oorlog uitbreekt. Haar grote liefde, Oscar, raakt vermist, maar Iris neemt zich voor hem voor altijd te blijven zoeken. Met moeite weet ze tijdens de oorlog te overleven met haar dochtertje Ágata en de toegewijde steun van haar vriendin Magdalena.
