De legendarische lange-afstandsloper Steve Prefontaine uit het Amerikaanse Oregon was een buitengewoon dynamisch atleet met een grenzeloze passie voor zijn sportieve discipline. Begin jaren '70 verpulverde "Pre" zeven Amerikaanse records op de afstanden tussen 2000 en 10.000 meter en maakte zichzelf en zijn sport ongekend populair. Hoewel hij op 24-jarige leeftijd bij een tragisch auto-ongeluk om het leven kwam, leeft zijn legende nog altijd voort.
Nee, helaas is Prefontaine nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
