Marshall is gescheiden en vader van Charlie. Na een reis in het buitenland komt marshall in het bezit van een vreemd doodshoofd dat bepaalde krachten bezit. Als Marshall en z'n zoon Charlie wenaen dat ze elkaars leeftijd willen zijn, wisselen ze echt van lichaam! Maar dan begint de ellende pas echt: Marshall ondergaat de gruwelen van de middelbare school, terwijl Charlie worstelt met het zakenleven, de creditcards en de nieuwe vriendin van z'n vader!
