Een freelance stenografe, genaamd Ellen Kelly, wordt ingehuurd voor een klus. Wanneer ze echter aankomt op het adres dat ze heeft gekregen, ontdekt ze dat daar een moord heeft plaatsgevonden. Al snel valt de verdenking op Ellen, waarna ze wordt gearresteerd.
