Garfields 29-jarige winning streak in de jaarlijkse Fun Fest-talentenwedstrijd wordt bedreigd door een onstuimige nieuwkomer, Ramone, die over grote charme beschikt. Bezorgd dat hij zijn gave zal verliezen, gaat Garfield op zoek naar de mythische vijver van Freddy Frog, waar wordt gezegd dat iedereen die ervan drinkt zeker grappig zal zijn.
