Sinds ze een klein meisje was, is het in Amy's hoofd gestampt door haar vader dat monogamie niet realistisch is. Amy is nu een schrijfster voor een tijdschrift en geniet van een onbevangen leven, vrij van verstikkende, saaie en romantische betrokkenheid. In werkelijkheid zit ze echter in een soort van sleur. Wanneer ze begint aan een nieuw artikel voor het tijdschrift begint ze iets te voelen voor het onderwerp, de charmante en succesvolle sportarts Aaron Conners.
