Een groep vrienden herenigt zich voor het jaarlijkse weekendje weg tijdens Onafhankelijkheidsdag. Het uitje wordt georganiseerd door Ellis en Wendy Conifer, een koppel wiens echtelijke problemen hun hoogtepunt bereikt hebben. Onder hen bevindt zich Chad, een vreemde, klungelige natuurfotograaf. Maar er is iets niet helemaal in orde met de schijnbaar onschuldige nieuwkomer.
