Ricki Rendazzo, een 54-jarige rockster, zingt met haar band The Flash in een bar in de San Fernando Valley. Ze date met haar gitarist, Greg, maar is bang om zich te binden. Ze ontvangt een telefoontje van haar ex-man, Pete Brummel, dat haar dochter Julie het moeilijk heeft nu haar man Max haar heeft verlaten voor een andere vrouw.
