De politie gelooft helemaal niets van de geruchten dat er een enorme vliegende hagedis boven de stad zou cirkelen. Helaas vallen er al gauw slachtoffers en het voltallige politiekorps lijkt er niks aan te kunnen doen. Een werkeloze pianostemmer ontdekt echter per toeval het nest van het monster en bedenkt een plan om het beest te kunnen verslaan.
