Remake van de gelijknamige film uit 1988. Baltimore, begin jaren '60. Tracy Turnblad, een moddervet maar swingend meisje ziet haar droom uitkomen als zij door de auditie van de Corny Collins Show heen komt. Nu zij eenmaal in deze populaire dansshow zit wil zij ook haar zwarte vrienden er in krijgen, maar dit is vragen om problemen.
Nee, helaas is Hairspray nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
