De zevenjarige Johannes Blom doet de ontdekking van zijn leven als hij achter de pot pindakaas in de keukenkast een klein mannetje vindt dat Wiplala heet en kan toveren . Als Wiplala de familie Blom per ongeluk net zo klein maakt als hijzelf, is dat het begin van een heel groot avontuur. Zullen ze ooit weer normaal worden?
