Plot

In 1925 in Damascus verhandelt Harry Smith stiekem wapens aan de rebellen van Emir Hassan. Verder is Smith een handelaar in voedsel. De Fransen dwingen hem om zijn voedsel aan hen te verkopen. Dan raakt hij geïnteresseerd in de maîtresse van Officier Feroud, Violette.
