Vijftiger Don Johnston heeft al heel wat vrouwen versleten, en hij staat op het punt gedumpt te worden door zijn huidige, heel wat jaartjes jongere geliefde (Julie Delpy). Kort daarop ontvangt hij een geheimzinnige brief waarin hem wordt medegedeeld dat hij een zoon heeft, ooit verwekt bij één van zijn vroegere vriendinnen. Afzender onbekend. Aangespoord door zijn buurman Winston (Jeffrey Wright), die deze verrassende wending in Don's leven als één groot avontuur ziet, besluit hij op reis te gaan door de VS om verhaal te halen bij zijn exen. De onverwachte bezoeken aan deze vier vrouwen zullen geheel uiteenlopend uitpakken, maar door de confrontatie met zijn verleden aan te gaan, realiseert Don zich ook wat voor een man hij eigenlijk is.
Nee, helaas is Broken Flowers nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
