Nadat de 16-jarige Lydia door haar vriendje, een drugsbaron, erin geluisd wordt voor het stelen van een fortuin aan drugsgeld, slaat ze op de vlucht. Ze kan nog maar bij één persoon terecht: haar vader John Link, een eeuwige loser die een dronkaard, drugsverslaafde, bendelid en ex-gevangene is geweest.
