Ellen, dochter van een rijke kopermagnaat, wordt na de zelfmoord van haar tweelingzuster verliefd op de ambitieuze Jonathan. Als zij de zelfmoord van haar zuster onderzoekt, stuit ze op een aantal schokkende feiten. Allen wijzen in de richting van Jonathan die inmiddels haar man is geworden. Nu blijkt pas hoe slecht Ellen hem kent.
