Ted Robards heeft het als effectenmakelaar in Boston niet gemakkelijk. Als de jonge makelaar Jeremy op een dag zijn hulp aanbiedt, lijken Ted's problemen van de baan. Maar eens Jeremy met z'n oudere vriendin Gina op de derde verdieping van Ted's huis komt wonen, begint hij aan de complete verwoesting van de familie Robards.
