Wanneer Ed Wallis op een nieuwe school in een nieuwe stad begint, nemen zijn klasgenoten al snel aan dat hij een loser is, zelfs al is hij de slimste en grappigste uit de klas. Zijn eerste opdracht bestaat uit het schrijven van een essay over iemand van een oudere generatie. Hiervoor gaat hij naar zijn teruggetrokken buurman, Ashby, die ermee instemt als Ed belooft hem rondrijdt door de stad als hij boodschappen moet doen. Wat Ed echter niet weet is dat Ashby een gepensioneerde CIA-huurmoordenaar is die nog slechts enkele maanden te leven heeft.
Nee, helaas is Ashby nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
