David Brent (Ricky Gervais) is 15 jaar na zijn ontslag bij Wernham Hogg aan het werk als zelfstandig deur-tot-deur-verkoper. Zijn grote droom is echter nog steeds om als muzikant door te breken. Wanneer een camerateam hem wederom komt volgen, besluit hij om samen met zijn band Foregone Conclusion op tournee te gaan.
