Roland Dalton is een advocaat die de zaak verdedigt van een drugdealer. De dealer claimt dat hij een corrupte agent uit noodweer neerschoot. Roland's tegenpartij is zijn ex-vriendin Susan, een succesvol openbaar aanklaagster. Richie Marks is een undercover politieman die samen met Dalton naar bewijzen zoekt, maar stuit op corrupte politieagenten, dealers en ander gespuis.
