Unico de eenhoorn heeft de geweldige gave om iedereen die hij ontmoet gelukkig te maken. Niemand weet precies of dit komt door zijn persoonlijkheid of door de magische kracht van zijn hoorn. De goden echter worden jaloers op Unico, want zij vinden dat alleen zij mogen beslissen welke mensen gelukkig zijn. Unico wordt verbannen naar de Heuvel van de Vergetelheid en West Wind krijgt de opdracht om hem daar heen te brengen. West Wind kan het niet verdringen om dit lot aan Unico op te dringen en zij neemt Unico mee van de ene naar de andere plaats. Hiermee begint Unico's avontuur om uit de handen van de goden te blijven.
