Londen, 1888. Op de nacht van de derde Jack the Ripper moord, huurt dokter Slade, een patholoog, de zolderverdieping af bij de Harleys om zijn onderzoeken voort te zetten. Mevrouw Harley vindt Slade een verdacht type, haar nicht Lily daarentegen vindt de man interessant en bijzonder aantrekkelijk.
