Plot

Onafhankelijkheid stond voorop voor de Amerikaanse onderzoeksjournalist I.F. Stone, die van 1953-1971 zijn eigen, kleine maar zeer gerespecteerde nieuwsbrief publiceerde, I.F. Stone’s Weekly. "Je kunt als journalist niet functioneren, tenzij je vrij bent" aldus Stone. Het is een les die velen nog altijd inspireert, onder wie Glenn Greenwald, die de geheimen van Edward Snowden over de NSA publiceerde, en John Carlos Frey, die onderzoek deed naar massagraven aan de Amerikaans-Mexicaanse grens.
