Mona, ooit studente kinderpsychologie, is erop gebrand haar kennis in de praktijk te brengen. Ze solliciteert voor een baan als gouvernante voor twee weeskinderen in een afgelegen plaats in het noorden van Argentinië en krijgt de baan. Ze is zo geobsedeerd met het proberen om de verwilderde kinderen wat bij te brengen dat ze niet doorheeft dat deze plannen met haar hebben.
