Op een afgelegen eilandje in de Adriatische Zee vindt een moord plaats temidden van een groepje rijke hotelgasten. Het blijkt Arlene Marshall te zijn die vermoord is. Hercule Poirot gaat wederom op onderzoek uit en ontdekt dat de gasten ieder een eigen reden had om een hekel aan Arlene te hebben.
