David is kapitein en wil een beter leven voor zijn gezin. Op een veiling ziet hij een oude boot met de naam "Mary". In een impulsieve bui koopt hij de boot. David en zijn gezin gaan varen en krijgen op zee te maken met vreemde en angstaanjagende gebeurtenissen.
