Yoshio Shiraiwa wordt door zijn vrouw gedumpt en gaat terug naar zijn thuisstad Hakodate. Hij gaat daar naar een vakschool, met behoud van zijn uitkering. Hij ontmoet daar Kazuhisa Daishima en deze neemt hem mee naar het cabaret, alwaar hij hostess Satoshi Tamura ontmoet. Zij heeft iets wat anderen niet hebben en zij en Yoshio worden close.
