Charles die geestelijk niet helemaal in orde is moet na een aanvaring met zijn zoon terug naar zijn manipulatieve ouders. De vrouw van Charles, Helene wordt door de ouders als schuldige aangewezen en men wil haar haar zoon afnemen. Een kennis wordt ingehuurd om negatieve informatie over Helene te verzamelen en haar leven te ruineren.
