Een jonge vrouw wordt bewusteloos aangetroffen op straat. Ze beweert dat ze een ander persoon is die officieel enkele maanden eerder om het leven gebracht is. De vrouw wordt opgesloten in een psychiatrisch ziekenhuis. Ze ontsnapt echter en is vastbesloten haar identiteit te bewijzen. Daarnaast poogt ze uit te zoeken waarom ze omgebracht werd, en door wie.
