Thana bevindt zich op een dood punt in zijn leven. Zijn werk als architect in Bangkok wordt niet meer op waarde geschat en ook z'n echtgenote lijkt weinig van hem te moeten hebben. Bij wie en waar hoort de man van middelbare leeftijd eigenlijk thuis? Dan stuit de gedesillusioneerde Thana op de olifant waarmee hij als jongetje op het Thaise platteland opgroeide. Hij koopt het dier om het mee te nemen op een roadtrip, terug naar hun gezamenlijke verleden.
